UPDATE 10:54 P.M.

Honolulu Police have released more details surrounding the multi-car crash that occurred on the Kahekili Highway off-ramp from the Likelike Highway. 

A 52-year-old woman was driving a 2002 Kenworth tow truck that was traveling north on the Kahekili Highway off-ramp when the driver reported that the brakes started to fail. 

The tow truck was said to be unable to maintain control and collided with a total of ten vehicles that were occupying both the north-bound lanes of the Kahekili off-ramp.

A 86-year-old female passenger of a 2007 Hyundai was transported to Kuakini Hospital in serious condition and later down graded to good condition.

A 31-year-old male driver of a 2015 Ford Fiesta was transported to Queen's Medical Center in critical condition, where he remains. 

A 70-year-old female driver of a 2017 Honda Fit was transported to Kuakini Hospital in serious condition and later down graded to good condition.

A 58-year-old female driver of a 2017 Jaguar was transported to the Queen's Medical Center in serious condition, where she remains.

The drivers and passengers of the other vehicles are uninjured.

Speed appears to be a factor in this collision.

Honolulu Police have confirmed that 11 cars were involved in the multiple car accident.

The Likelike Highway on-ramp to Kahekili Highway has reopened.

UPDATE 6:29 P.M.

Hawaii Department of Transportation will extend Pali Highway access in the Kailua-bound direction until 8 p.m. Wednesday following the multiple vehicle crash on the Likelike Highway.

UPDATE:

A 31-year-old man is in critical condition following a multiple vehicle crash on the Kahekili Highway off-ramp Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the incident at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday where they treated four patients: the 31-year-old man in critical condition, a woman in serious condition, and two more women in stable condition.

All were treated and transported to emergency rooms.
