(Hawaii Athletics) - The Big West Conference handed out its all-conference awards as voted by the league coaches with the University of Hawai'i taking home numerous honors. Five pairs gained all-league recognition, while, Pani Napoleon was named Freshman of the Year.
 
The No. 1 pair of Emily Maglio and Amy Ozee was named first-team all-Big West, as was the No. 2 pair of Ari Homayun and Julia Scoles. Napoleon and Morgan Martin were second-team honorees at the No. 3 flight. Meanwhile, Hi'ilawe Huddleston-Kylin Loker (No. 4) and Paige Dreeuws-Sofia Russo (No. 5) earned honorable mention.
 
Seniors Maglio and Homayun each gained all-conference honors for the fourth straight season with Maglio becoming the program's first four-time, first-team all-conference selection. The native of Coquitlam, Canada teamed with the junior Ozee to go 21-7 this season. Homayun, meanwhile, teamed with newcomer Julia  Scoles to go a team-best 28-6 on the season. 
 
Napoleon achieved the league's top freshman billing after a phenomenal season going 30-9. The native of Bonita, Calif., played primarily at the No 3 flight where she went 23-3 with the junior Martin. The pair won its first 20 matches together, including a school-record 40 straight sets.  It is the fourth straight Freshman of the Year award for UH. Napoleon joins Maglio (2016), Martin ('17) and Lea Monkhouse ('18) in gaining the honor.
 
UH concluded the season 28-11 overall and finished fourth at NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship. The SandBows have finished in the top four nationally each of the last four seasons.
