The University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team is in the Championship match of the NCAA men’s volleyball tournament.

Hawaii advanced to this year’s finale after beating Lewis through four sets at the Walter Pyramid on Thursday night.

The Rainbow Warriors were led by Colten Cowell’s 15 kills. Rado Parapunov and Stijn van Tilburg each pitched in with 11 kills.

UH will face the tournament host and defending national champs Long Beach State in Saturday's title match. The 49ers advanced after beating Pepperdine in the second semifinal through four sets.

This year marks Hawaii’s sixth NCAA tournament appearance, first as the overall top seed and first as an automatic selection.  Hawaii earned the automatic bid by winning the Big West Tournament championship in a five-set victory over Long Beach State at the Stan Sheriff Center.

With Thursday’s win, UH is now 3-2 in NCAA semifinals with wins in 1996 and 2002 to reach the title match.
