Current Maui resident Eric Dugas finished his first and second round of the 2019 Sony Open with a 2-under total score to match the cut line number and advance to Saturday's action. He is golf professional at Makena Golf and Beach Club on Maui's south side.

Dugas also participated in the Sony Open back in 2012 and 2014 as well as the PGA Championship in 2008.

The Maui resident qualified for this year's Sony Open by shooting 3-under-par 69 to win the Aloha Section Stroke Play Championship in October. That also qualified him for the PGA Professional National Championship, to be held June 17-20 in Seaside, California.

He has been joined all week by friends and family from all over the country.

"You could hear them, I got mom, dad, brother, girl, best friend, members from Makena, people from Boston, from all corners. It's been wild, pretty overwhelming, and really cool. After the round we just get to hang out which is something we don't get too do, get together as a group, so looking forward to after this," Eric Dugas said.

He is set to tee off from the 10th hole at 12:30pm on Saturday.
