HONOLULU - Friday marks week three of the partial government shutdown, and federal employees are demanding an end to the standstill.

Friday is also the first missed paycheck for many.

Hawaii U.S. Representative Tulsi Gabbard, and Hawaii U.S. Senator Mazie Hirono joined protesters in a rally in Washington D.C.

"Federal workers, he tried to freeze your pay, he's made it hard for unions to organize and stay organized, and now he's shutting you all out from your jobs so he can get his vanity wall," said Hirono.

In Hawaii, more than 800,000 federal employees are affected by the shutdown.
