HONOLULU - Firefighters responded to a house fire around 10:25 p.m. Wednesday night on Haloa Drive in Foster Village.

More than three dozen fire fighters arrived just after the call to find the home engulfed in flames -- but emergency responders were able to to put the fire out about 20 minutes later.

Five adults and three children were able to escape the home safely. One man sustained minor burns.

Three puppies did not survived the blaze.

HFD also reports that the home did not have a working fire alarm.

Damage is estimated at nearly $625,000.
