DOJ asks for delay in Obamacare case
The Justice Department is asking a federal judge to extend the filing deadline in the Obamacare case because of the government shutdown.
Last week, democrats in the house moved to intervene in an ongoing lawsuit to defend Obamacare. A coalition of democratic state attorney generals are currently defending the law. The moves came after a federal district judge in Texas issued an opinion last month declaring the health care law's individual mandate unconstitutional.
The judge says, as a result, the rest of the law could not stand but would remain in effect pending appeal.
