Tiger Woods will not begin the new year in Hawaii at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Maui. Woods has until Friday to make a final decision but has told sources he will skip the January 3rd tournament at Kapaula Resort and will likely make his 2019 debut at Torrey Pines during the Farmers Insurance Open.

Woods has not competed at the Tournament of Champions since 2005. 

The tournament is reserved for PGA Tour winners from 2018. The Tour Championship victory, his 80th, made him eligible for the for the first time in five years. Defending champion Dustin JohnsonBrooks KoepkaJustin ThomasBryson DeChambeauJon Rahm and Rory McIlroy are among players expected to compete.
