Big Island switches focus from Hector to primary elections
Pahoa and Pahala community centers are back open for early voting.
PAHOA, Hawaii - Things are getting back to normal on the Big Island— after closing due to the possibility of Hurricane Hector — the Pahoa and Pahala community centers are back open for early voting.
Those are two of several absentee early voting walk-in sites. The office of elections closed the centers on Wednesday.
Workers say there is a decent turnout so far.
Pahoa Community Center is open until 4 p.m., and the Pahala Community Center open until 3 pm.
If you don't have time to vote early — the primary election is this Saturday.
